Dr Janet Stevens – Veterinarian

Hi, I’m Janet . I have been working as a vet for over 30 years and still love the challenge and variety of being a veterinarian.

I have grown up with lots of animals and cannot imagine a household without pets.

While studying Veterinary Science at Melbourne University I worked many years as a veterinary nurse in a busy pet emergency center. Early in my veterinary career I worked in the UK for a year seeing lots of unusual creatures. I love that every day is different, that we get to see everything from tiny puppies and kittens to our elderly patients. 

My interests lie in the fields of surgery and managing interesting cases within our veterinary team. 

Outside work I live on a small farm with my teenage son and, of course, lots of animals including my rescue horse Max, our alpaca Lally and our dogs and cats.

I enjoy traveling overseas, spending time with both my children and pottering on the farm.

I’m very lucky to work with a great team here at Mountain Gate!
